[ Maybe she was trying to summon that other bird and the signals crossed somewhere along the way. Frankly speaking, Ritsuka has given up on pretending she understands in the slightest how the summoning circle really works, and what brings one Servant or another to her. And a birdlady isn't any weirder than some of what she's encountered...

...holy shit, though, the bird peeping is cute.

Phew, okay. Stay calm, Ritsuka. You've done this so many times before, you're a pro at this. She raises a hand in greeting. ]

[ Thank goodness for magical translations, that's for sure, because we're not sure if Ritsuka could tell sign language apart from actual magic gestures. More pressingly, she's at a loss -- because she's had to explain Chaldea and the general mission plenty of times in the field, as it were, but never in Chaldea. Not after a summoning.

It's here, for one. You know? Uh, super top-secret magic facility, blah blah blah, the heroes humanity needs even if they don't deserve them?

[ This would be a perfect time for Mash to swoop in and be more diplomatic, but unfortunately for both of them, she's not here. ]

[There's a long, long pause, where Sarnai just stares down at Ritsuka. For most people, it's probably an uncomfortable gaze--Sarnai's eyes are sharp and unflinching. And then she signs, very slowly to emphasize the point.]

Talk slower. I can't have lip-read that right.

She does at least try to talk more slowly, as directed, though she also already can tell it's not going to help. ]

You know, uh... general world-ending crises, trying to keep the correct path of human history moving forward, using the help and support of summoned Heroic Spirits?

[Sarnai appears to be considering this. And then sighs out, before fiddling with one of her earrings. Her hand lights up when she does, too.

And then she speaks--slowly, carefully, to try and ensure her enunciation, but she does speak!]

I don't...understand anything you're talking about. But you said people...were in danger? Then I'll help.

[ Of course this new Saber can do magic. It's barely a blip of surprise at this point, there and gone again. Ritsuka places her hands together, palm-to-palm, fingers spread. ]

Yeah, it's kind of weird. I don't always get all of it myself.

But we're all trying to do our best here, so -- thank you for your help!

[ She bobs down low in a half-bow, then tilts her head to look up again, without straightening from that position. ]

--I'm Ritsuka, by the way. Uh, usually you guys introduce yourselves when you show up.

[ Probably like. Prior to Solomon? Somewhat before? Or after? I will leave that up to you. We can play this by ear, but regardless of when it is in time, he's bumping into her in the hall, all smiles as per usual. ]

[ Let's just say this is some wobbly time after Solomon, because she might have some Words for him, but at least they won't all come out right away.

And that doesn't make her automatic reaction to him any less what it is. At least she manages to contain it to that one brief mutter before she smiles back. There's always at least a chance that it's something important. ]

[ Even Buster gorillas can be cute...!! All of Ritsuka's Servants are cute, though some are more obviously so than others.

She pops back upright at that. Somehow, no matter how many times she's done this, there's always a Moment for her right when she receives that acknowledgment and acceptance. It's exciting, and she's only a little embarrassed to admit it. ]
