It does not seem to like this at all. It struggles, wrapping around his wrist with a surprisingly crushing amount of strength, clearly resisting, as if it's hiding something.
It's okay - it's okay. I promise, I'm not going to hurt you or any part of her! You don't have to give me any kind of feeling, but you don't have to hurt me, either. I just want to get past this so I can find her and help her!
It just struggles more, frantic, gripping him with a crushing sort of strength... but if he persists, he can see, in its struggle, that there is the glint of something gold under the thing.
It struggles even harder, frantic; he's going to have some gnarly bruising on his wrist after this. But he can make the grab, and what he finds is a gold ring: a heavy band, solid and unadorned.
It's so unhappy, surprisingly emotive for a thing that has hundreds of eyes and no other facial features. But once he has the ring, it goes still again, as if deactivated.
The ring itself is a pretty heavy piece for its size, without any sort of extra adornment or decoration.
Well, at least he doesn't turn invisible or anything!
But once the ring is on, he can see the outline of a door, glowing gold and slowly solidifying, on the wall on the other side of the bed. It was definitely not there before.
Re: MY ROOM
Sorry about this, sorry, I promise I'll be careful—
[and then he's reaching out to pick up the tentacle.]

[he's trying to pet the tentacles to subdue them after this, apologetic, but he'll inspect the ring afterwards.]

Re: MY ROOM
This might be presumptuous, but—
[he slips the ring on.]
