As it recoils from the flick, they can see there's the flicker of something gold under the tentacle in question, but it quickly coils around the thing again. It's covered it hundreds of tiny red unblinking eyes, no mouths, but it's not hard to imagine the sound of a cat hissing.
It struggles, exactly like an angry cat, wrapping tightly around their wrist. For such a small thing, it has an intensely strong grip. There are going to be bruises when it lets go. And it will take some effort, though if they lift it enough, there does appear to be a gold ring hidden under the base of the tentacle.
It's not! It's a ring. A pretty heavy one for its size, a thick gold band without any real adornment to it, though it buzzes a little with a definite sense of energy. Like the walls of the first room, it's sort of like holding one's hand a little too close to an electric field.
The tarot card gives them this memory, without the associated game chatter. Whatever else might be said about what Selena saw when they encountered him in the gallery, this... is a good memory. A warm one, and a fond one.
It looks like the one Cerberus won from the feelings game! Holding it doesn't give them any kind of memory, but there is a whole tangle of emotions: a sense of curiosity and maybe some amusement--the emotional equivalent of a cheerful shrug, really--and then, just under that, shunted off into a metaphorical corner, is the feeling of loneliness, deep enough to drown someone.
The card is pretty shredded--like it had been ripped into quarters, and two of those torn up even further--but it can be put together, with some patience. None of it feels great, though; there's a clear sense of anxiety and awkwardness, the sense of being left out and flat-footed, longing for something one doesn't believe they can have. It gets stronger the more the card comes together.
