It was the only thing we had to eat for all meals for like a week... it sucked.

But it could've been worse, right? From what I heard about the place, I'd expect prison slop.

[fujimaru]

It could've been a lot worse. ...Honestly, the thing about it wasn't that it was horrible, it was just--really inconvenient. This village is practically a resort, right? We get so much freedom to move around and ask for things. That other place was just--lots of little petty unpleasant things.

So what was the point, to make you miserable for a little bit?

I think it was a little more involved than that. That was around when the Warden was trying really hard to make our possessions take over us.

[psynchroneyes]

Oh, right. And then that weird palace stuff happened too, didn't it? Everything now sounds so quiet in comparison. Mostly.

[fujimaru]

Yeah, that wasn't fun... even if things around here are quiet, my ridealong hasn't stopped complaining about it.

[psynchroneyes]

... You have one of those?

[fujimaru]

I mean, you know.

The possessions that the Warden gives us? I already knew mine from before.

... Yeah, I guess they are ride-alongs in their own way. I usually think something along the lines of freeloader.

[fujimaru]

I dunno, we're all technically freeloaders except for the people on Echidna.

Is it freeloading if it's against your will?

[fujimaru]

I think it depends on who you ask.

[psynchroneyes]

Hm... Nah. I'll consider it compensation for the bullshit we gotta put up with.

That's fair! And you gotta admit, the benefits are pretty nice. Nicer than you'd expect, when the Warden wants to roleplay prison life.

And I think I'd grow bored out of my mind in a normal prison. ... More than I do around here, anyway.

[fujimaru]

I know. I'm used to being so busy all the time, being here is kind of weird.

Or not kind of. A lot? A lot weird.

Right? I've been super busy for a while too, so coming here to a lot of nothing... It almost makes me miss work.

[fujimaru]

I just hate that I haven't finished, either. I don't like leaving a project partway through.

I think that's a little more than a "project", though.

A little, but I don't know what else I'd call it.

I guess it's more like a... mission? No, maybe 'undertaking' is more like it.

Yeah... when I'm really tired, it's mostly just, "let me live."
