[first off, he glances around quickly to see if there's anything around that might fit in that ring in the podium! if not, he'll head towards the stairs and the doors.]

There is nothing that appears to be a match for the space in the podium--just the sense of emptiness where something should be.

As for the doors, they are perfectly normal looking doors! They've got little keycard locks next to them, though when he approaches any one, the light beeps from red to green. They don't appear to be actually locked.

[he'll check them really quick to see if there's any visible difference between them, or if they're completely identical! if they're identical, he'll just go into the one that's closest from the stairwell as he approaches.]

They are all identical! Nothing that stands out about any in particular. The closest door would be this one.
