He laughs once, a bark of sound, though it's not entirely amused. He might even be slightly impressed.

"Do you think so? That I, the King of Men, would care about the life of one paltry little human child?"

Is she?

[Staring him down! He keeps the eye contact, tails lashing.]

Or is she the only one who could ever possibly understand? The only one who sits here with you? Would you really accept losing that?

His eyes narrow slightly, his sneer curling into a snarl for just a moment, before he schools his expression into something more calm again.

"She is hardly befitting the role of Queen," he says. "And I am hardly Solomon, who spread his affections far and wide, and thus gave none to any of the women of his harem. If the time came that I decided to choose one, there would be only one."

That was not really my implication . . . I can't help but feel that was somewhat pointed, but that aside . . . to you, and to me, she is not only just some human girl.

[fujimaru]

"No?" He raises an eyebrow again. "You, who says she might sit beside me upon a throne, and that was not your implication? Such things are not so simple as that."

And he rises to his feet, a single smooth motion. His feet do not quite touch the ground when he does. He is not an excessively tall man, as it turns out, but he does conduct himself with a perfect confidence in this body.

"But I have challenged, and you have come. Follow me."

She was literally on the throne last I saw her! Honestly. You and your implications. Regardless . . . I'll follow you. I'll meet your challenge.

He nods, then turns and walks. A portal simply flares to life from nothingness, and he steps through with confidence.
