There is a burst of energy at the contact, a hot stabbing sort of pain, and he sees--

You can see the exact moment she understands what is happening, the way her confusion and anger give way to a genuine terrified panic. She claws at the arm of the smiling man who is slowly pushing her into what appears to be a fiery self-contained globe, screaming. No, no, I can't die like this! Not here! I can't--

You want to run for her, your feet scrabbling at the ground for a second, but your arm is held in an inexorable grip; you are locked in place by someone far stronger than you are.

But then she disappears, and the sound of her screaming cuts off abruptly.

The woman, however, whips around to stare at him, wide-eyed, horrified, and unhappy.

If anything, she looks even angrier at this, but she does at least draw herself up.

"Olgamarie Animusphere! The proper Director of Chaldea! My father was one of the Lords of the Clock Tower, and this was his legacy--it was my duty to protect it."

She sounds like she's on the verge of tears again, forcing through: "And yet, I'm stuck here instead."

"I am--ahhhhh--Doctor Romani Archaman," he says, in kind of a rush, because it's not very easy to have a conversation while trying to keep a woman from attacking someone. "I was the Acting Director for Chaldea after Director Animusphere's--would you please stop--but I'm a doctor! That's all! I'd rather avoid violence, if we can!"

"That's not the point!" he wheezes, because unfortunately, Olgamarie can touch him, and he is getting an elbow to his gut for his trouble. "I don't want a fight, is that so hard to understand?!"

I was trying to be helpful asking if she wanted some curry. She's the one who decided to take offense and get all riled up. I was being nice!

Anyway, do you know where Ritsuka is? Or where's the best place to look for her?

There's a bit of a scuffle, and for a guy who is just a normal doctor, he is actually pretty good at getting her pinned as she continues to shriek in protest.

"Ritsuka is--unfortunately, none of us are able to leave this place," he says, apologetic, if still a bit strained. "There's a key, though. If you can find it. If you have it, it should lead you to where she is."

You should know by now that, if anything, you and Ritsuka are equals. Get over whatever title you had in life. It means nothing once you're dead. You're you, Ritsuka's Ritsuka. No one here's titles or numbers. So get over yourself and stop making the living suffer more just because you died and she didn't!

And before you even start, I know damn well what it's like to die a shitty death, so when I say "get over yourself", I know what I'm talking about.

The man grimaces, though Olgamarie has fallen silent, just glaring daggers at him. If looks could kill, he would definitely be dead.
