...But also, as that fades, there is something that feels almost... hopeful? In an odd sort of way. Like maybe that wasn't actually the end after all.

Unlike with the flower, though, there is no sense of something better. It's just a dead end, something that Ritsuka might have wanted, but is closed off.

She looks so lonely, watching someone that you know she is too afraid to speak to, strangled in the expectations of her role. Regret is a sharp pain in one eye, the scent of water and flowers as she sinks below the surface.
There is still no other happy ending here.

This one is... less final than the other two, but there is no happier ending than with the third door.
