His sneer deepens, but he does not move as they ascend the stairs. One of the benefits of being the King of this place seems to be that he does not have to worry about all of these hellish, hellish stairs.

"Indeed. I have no interest in your scolding, O Universal Genius."

[ Well. Whatever! ]

And I have no interest in chit-chatting right now. I'm here to take back my student.

"Are you?" He tilts his head, his sneer shifting into a smirk. "And if I refuse? I have laid claim to this land, and there is none who would otherwise defy me. Why should I hand the Master of Chaldea over so easily?"

Because she doesn't belong here and you know it.

[ She'd fold her arms over her chest if she wasn't on Twin Duty, but her gaze is sharp. ]

You would have actually stopped me from getting this far if you fully intended on keeping her. Just like how most of the other Servants couldn't act.

[fujimaru]

"Is that so?" He smirks, and when they finally make it closer, he sits up properly, his bearing as properly regal as any king. "Perhaps what I want is that. I have already worked with one body before. What do I care, if I take another?"

[davincible]

Pretty sure the one who challenged me to find her was you. Are you really going to keep doing yourself a disservice to the corpse you took over by playing the "what-if" game, King of Mages?

[fujimaru]

"Ha!" He laughs once, his teeth still bared. "So I did! And now I wonder if I should not have given you more of a challenge in the process. But here you are."

He rises to his feet. In this body, he is clearly more comfortable than he was trying to use Ritsuka's, his hands spread.

"In the end, this body was left behind. The Master of Chaldea still breathes, and that is more trouble than it is worth."

Agree to disagree. [ With a casual shrug, though she's watching him like a hawk. ]

"It is a bother to use a body that is not compatible with your Spirit Origin in every way," he says. He waits until they reach the dais before he turns his back on her, deliberately. "Solomon's body was as much mine as it was his, but Humanity's Last Master is her own being."

He holds up a palm, a gold seal flaring to life, shaping a portal. It is impossible to tell what is on the other side, but he turns back to Da Vinci, his smile mocking, all teeth. "If I tell you she lies on the other side, will you trust that?"

[ her expression is serene and otherwise unreadable. ]

I'll trust what I witness for myself. Whatever's on the other side is guaranteed to be better than listening to your complaints.

He doesn't say that. He probably would not actually do that. But he does glare. This is just a brief reaction shot.]
