If she looks very hard, in between blinks again, there appears to be the outline of something over there, little glimmering bits of gold that might form something, but have not completely come together.

[presses up against it with a hand, experimentally, though she doesn't really expect it to give way]

...I see. I need to keep making a search, in that case.

[turns back to the figurine]

Thank you kindly for all of your help. Would you like to come with me while I explore? You needn't feel pressured. It is only an option since you're easy to carry. I was going to search the cafeteria next, so I am sure I could bring you back more chocolates.

It waves at her, more enthusiastically than before.

For the record, the closer she gets to the door, the brighter the outline gets; depending on which hand she uses to touch the wall, it will get brighter still.

she turned around to talk to the figurine and simply did not notice that the outline was glowing brighter until she turned back around to look at it again. it seems like a reasonable enough reaction to prompt her to put the ring on one of her fingers; the ring being like a key isn't too far of a stretch, surely.]

--?! Oh! Perhaps we should look in here first, then? Unless you really did want to go to the cafeteria.

Once the ring is on, her hunch is correct: after a second, the door is suddenly much more clearly there: a heavy ornate golden thing--the kind of doors a king or an emperor might use--which honestly looks very out of place compared to the mundane cheerful clutter.

[it does feel a bit out of place...

nonetheless, she is curious enough to go through and see what is on the other side]
