[ Ah, there it is. The "Ritsuka goes up on her toes to try and establish huffy dominance" moment. Da Vinci just snorts a little and keeps walking, letting her into the room and moving to her workshop to push a little box on top of the table towards Ritsuka. ]

You could ask for it, you know. Not that I'm encouraging this.

[fujimaru]

I've got other stuff I need to get, first. What's this?

[ She picks up the box, looking at Da Vinci briefly for approval before she opens it. ]

[ She nods her blessing. Inside is a delicate-looking necklace, a multicolored ring (for the utmost irony) hanging from a light gold chain. ]

An extra bit of assistance. When it can't sense your consciousness but your body is still moving, it acts as a dampener of sorts. It won't restrict our friend entirely, of course, but I happen to think it's better than nothing. I've attuned it to your Magic Circuits, sad as they are, which means no one else but you will be able to remove it.

[fujimaru]

--Oh, pretty.

[ She lifts it out of the box carefully, smiling a little at the ring. No one else here is going to get the joke, but she understands. She can appreciate that irony. ]

I'm a little annoyed it took so long, but getting the right materials from the box took some time.

[ And it's pretty so she's satisfied. ]

[fujimaru]

Better late than never! And it wasn't even late!

[ Ritsuka has no idea how long these things would take, But she's quite pleased, undoing the clasp so she can slip it around her neck. ]

If all it does is slow him down a little, that's more than enough. I don't want him to hurt anyone.

[ And especially not using her body. ]

Theoretically, it should also siphon portions of his own energy if he tries and make the necklace even more effective for the next time. But obviously I couldn't test that part.

He hasn't popped up or anything since I had to fight Sholmes-san... I think.

[ She isn't exactly right about that, but no one who saw her eyes has told her otherwise. ]

Guess he also wasn't super fond of the last task.

I think that's something we all have in common. And with barely any time for people to recover from it, either.

I can kind of get the reasoning behind it, but...

[ But. She shrugs a little, not quite awkward. ]

Part of me kind of wants to sleep for a week after all of this.

Nothing wrong with that. Well, aside from the obvious. But getting a little extra sleep won't hurt you.

I kind of feel like sleeping that long would only be worse in the long run... kind of like running away? I'm bad at that.

[ She's whining, but also, she means it. ]

But you do know that means you actually have to take steps of your own.

Everyone here is extremely complicated for Reasons, capital R, and you know that.

I know. Which is why, if you really want to change how things are, you're going to need to at least get past this particular hurdle of Talking.

I already talk so much. I talk so much, and at this point, I'm starting to feel like talking just gets me into trouble.
